No reports of swine fever at standard pig farms
VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN) – Standard pig farms appear not to have been affected by an outbreak of African swine fever, which has killed more than 14,000 animals raised by villagers using traditional methods, a senior official at the Livestock and Fishery Department has said.
Farm operators have stepped up safety measures to prevent losses due to the dangerous disease. They face a high possibility of huge risks if the virus infects their pigs.
